Jeanne, a shy, young woman, lives with her exuberant mother and works at an amusement park. Her mother wants her to meet a man, but Jeanne prefers tinkering with miniature carousels in her bedroom. During her late-night shifts, she’s drawn to the enticing new ride, Jumbo. Jeanne finds herself seduced by Jumbo's red lights, smooth chrome, and oily hydraulics, and concludes this is the relationship she wants to pursue.
